Poetry: Rebekha Carlsen

The Shiver Underneath

a poem written upon a wall
daisies withered on the rafters
stolen jasmine flirted nasal passages
bamboo stacked across barrelled skylines
underside and underneath
an orange tinged sky caressed edible notes
buds of decorative leaf:
it felt as Springtime nausea a judgement lapse
against a pollen mist overgrown
filtered. filtered and stale. stale and broken.
a cup of milky tea chilly against a wait
melodies of magpies open a single day
dew-drops form to fade from view
stealing a dissent unfolds
an unwrapping persists a broken skyline
an overhanging Sun cracking in the way of glass
