The Regular Wins a Door Prize
Poems by Suzanne Frischkorn
A paper umbrella
fuchsia & purple.
The bouncer
demonstrated—push
the white nub up
and it opens.
The blond
sticks spread wide.
Pull it down—
it collapses neat
straight-up as scotch.
A slice of orange
dresses up a glass
rim. Maraschino
red works best
against the pale
yellow of Pina Colada.
To need a shot
and be handed
a paper umbrella—
sometimes the rain doesn't let up.
